Pikes Peak railroad and Garden of the Gods, Colorado

We had a hard time finding a place to stay in Colorado Springs because many of the campgrounds had already closed for winter, but there were a few still open and we ended up staying at the Garden of the Gods campground. Fairly level pad with electric only, not too far from Manitou. We explored Manitou (not our favorite place) on a Sunday evening and grabbed some ice cream and walked around. We took the train to Pikes Peek, however we couldn’t go all the way to the top because of very high winds, but we still made it up fairly high. It was crazy windy!!

After the train ride, we headed back to the RV to get some lunch and do some school while Mark took care of some work.

Then we cruised over to the Garden of the Gods a bit before sunset!

Great day exploring!

  1. Garden of the Gods is so beautiful. I have visited there several times. The rocks are magic, you just feel so humble in front of nature. Having your children experience such unique beauty is a great experience for them. Happy travels!

      1. Colorado and Utah are the places where I have felt that most of all. I look forward to seeing more photos and stories from your journey.
